Winns Raises Over £1,500 for Children in Need

In order to raise money for Children in Need, Winn Solicitors held a raffle to give away an additional paid days holiday to a member of staff.

In exchange for a £5 donation to Children in Need, staff could win an extra day’s holiday. Tickets were on sale for a week prior to the event, and the lucky winner was announced on Friday 18th November 2016.

Winns regularly supports the local community and charities, and has been thinking of new ways to get people as involved as possible when it comes to raising money. A paid day off work has been a fantastic way to raise extra funds for such a good cause.

Legal Director Ghazala Bashey said: “We’re always looking for ways to encourage fundraising, so this year we thought it would be great to do something different. With Christmas fast approaching and holidays running low, an extra day off work has definitely proved popular and encouraged staff to get involved.

“We’re delighted to have raised £1,563.80 for such a fantastic cause. It has been great to see staff rally around the office running various fundraising activities.”

As well as offering staff extra annual leave, the company also allowed staff to come to work dressed in onesies in exchange for a charity donation. They also held a bake sale, sold pudsey ears, and held a ‘how many sweets in the jar’ competition.

Children in Need, the BBC’s corporate charity has been in operation since 1980. Through public support, the charity has raised £600 million in that time, which has been used to help change the lives of disadvantaged children across the UK. The charity currently supports 2,400 projects nationwide.
