Personal injury relates to injury or illness caused as a result of third-party negligence in an accident. This is the major factor when making a personal injury claim. When making a personal injury claim, you have three years from the date of the accident to begin the application as dictated by law.
There are exceptions to this; if you are under the age of 18 at the time of the accident, your statutory time limit starts from your 18th birthday, as opposed to the date of the accident.
Other exceptional circumstances include clients who lack mental capacity, or if you are dealing with the claim on behalf of a deceased loved one. The three-year time period for the latter starts from the day you discover the cause of their death.
