Double Personal Injury Accreditation Announced

Two solicitors have achieved Personal Injury accreditation through the Law Society, bolstering the legal reputation of the company.

Emma Jasarevic and Simon Staton join Naveen Sandhu in having Personal Injury accreditation, a quality standard for practitioners representing claimants in personal injury matters.

Holding this accreditation is a mark of excellence and trust; only eight solicitors in the North East hold PI accreditation, with three of those working at Winns.

David Dewar, Associate Director and Head of Commercial and Contested Litigation, said: “I am delighted that Emma and Simon’s skills and service are recognised by this accreditation.

“Including Emma & Simon, there are only eight solicitors who hold the accreditation and practice in the North East, which is a testament to the challenging qualification criterion and application process.

“It is so pleasing to see that three of the eight solicitors practice within Winn Solicitors’ Serious and Technical Injury Team, which demonstrates our drive and commitment to deliver quality and excellence for our clients.”

We caught up with Emma and Simon to get their reaction to the news:

What was your reaction when you discovered the accreditation had been confirmed?

Emma: I was really pleased but also extremely shocked. The application process is extremely onerous, and I did not expect to be approved the first time.

Simon: I was delighted as the application process is onerous and it reflects an acceptance of my experience and competence.

Does it feel like a notable achievement in your career?

Emma: Absolutely. I am very proud to say I have been accredited.

Simon: I do feel that Personal Injury Panel accreditation is something that I am proud to have been able to achieve as it reflects my experience and the standard of work that I have achieved.

How does it help the company to have two more people PI accredited?

Emma: I think it will help to demonstrate that Winns will be a good choice for any client wanting to make a claim who has sustained serious injuries. It will allow us to show that our lawyers have the knowledge and experience to deal with complex personal injury claims.

Simon: It will enable the firm to confirm that we have several accredited members of the Law Society’s Personal Injury Panel. Only lawyers who are able to demonstrate a record of successfully managing complex personal injury claims are entitled to accreditation.
