Duo Set to be Admitted as Solicitors

Winn Solicitors would like to congratulate two of our trainee solicitors after learning they are due to be admitted as solicitors.

Josef Lythe and Sarah Laird finished their training contracts on April 15th, and the SRA have recently confirmed they will be admitted to the Solicitors Roll on May 1st.

When discussing this milestone moment in the pair’s careers, Jo Amos, Associate Director, Head of Complex and Training Principal at Winns, was full of praise.

She said; “Both Sarah and Joe have worked very hard to be able to qualify as solicitors. I am very pleased that they have made the most of their training contracts and I am sure will develop into effective and successful lawyers.”

Discussing Josef's milestone, David Dewar, Associate Director and Head of Commercial & Contested Litigation, said; "This is a well-deserved milestone for Josef. I too qualified whilst working and know how hard it is to balance work and study. Josef has only been in Part 7 for a short period of time, however, he is already demonstrating many of the attributes that I believe will make him a very accomplished solicitor and I am delighted to have him as part of the team."

Josef was equally pleased with the news, even if celebrations may not be quite what he had envisaged previously.

He said; “I am very pleased to have finally finished my training contract and to be qualifying as a solicitor. To qualify after years of hard work is a great feeling.

“It was a tough journey from university to having to do my LPC alongside working. However, it has paid off and I am relieved to finally be qualifying. It’s just a shame I can’t really celebrate due to the global pandemic that you may be aware of!"

Chris Cullingworth, Associate Director and Head of Vehicle Damage, said of Sarah's success; "Sarah is a valued and experienced member of the team and has continued to grow and develop during her time in Vehicle Damage. Sarah has put in a lot of hard work in order for her to complete her training contract and it is really pleasing to see her become a newly qualified solicitor."

Sarah admitted to being excited at what the future holds after finishing this stage of her development.

She said; “I am really happy to be qualifying as a solicitor, I’m pleased that all of the years of studying have finally paid off.

“I have worked really hard over the last two years of my training contract and have gained a lot of knowledge and experience not only in my own department but also throughout my seats and during the practical skills course. The last two years have helped me develop both my skill set and build my confidence.

“I am so happy to be finally qualified and I am excited to start the next chapter and see what the future holds here at Winn Solicitors.”
