Don't gamble with tyre safety

We know that when you’re out on your bike, enjoying your workout and the adrenaline rush that comes with it, tyre safety is the last thing on your mind.

You’re enjoying the ride, and we get that. So we’ve put together a quick checklist for you to go through before your hop on your bike. Remember: your tyres are vital for keeping you safe and in keeping you enjoying your bike ride!

1. Remove any stones in the tyre from your last ride – this will help prevent punctures.
2. Check your tyre pressure (Follow tyre pressure guidelines located on your tyre).
3. Pull the brake levers to make sure the blocks bite.
4. Is the tread looking particularly worn down? It might be time to invest in some new tyres.
5. Store your tyres in a safe place at a constant temperature. Do not store tyres in direct sunlight for extended periods of time.

If you’re not sure, the best thing to do is to give your bike ride a miss, and let an expert take a look at your tyres. It is also a good idea to get your bike serviced regularly by a good bike mechanic – the better condition your bike is in the faster you can go!
