What Can be Claimed in Relation to Loss of Earnings?
After an accident at work, you might find yourself out of pocket due to time off work, travel expenses and medical bills.
On top of your claim for personal injury compensation, you may also be able to claim for loss of earnings.
The law allows us to recover financial losses, which have been caused as a direct result of accident related injuries. For example, if you take sick leave, which is directly caused by your injuries, and you lose wages as a result, we can claim this back for you. In order to prove that the time you’ve taken off is a result of accident related injuries, we will obtain medical evidence from an appropriate medical expert. If you take holiday instead of sick leave, this cannot be claimed back from your employer as you would not have incurred a financial loss.
If you keep the receipts of any travel expenses or prescription costs that have been incurred as a direct result of your injuries, we will aim to recover these costs for you too.
